Song of the day : "Hole In My Soul" by Aerosmith

Today's song of the dayis Hole In My Soul by Aerosmith.

I chose it because as for me this song is a classic, legendary song, just like a band Aerosmith.
Hand up, who thinks the same.

I chose this song today, because it has mix of two "dangerous" things: power and emotions. This song has something inside, not only in music or lyrics, what is staying in your mind. That's really remarkable, because even if you don't hear this song during years, you still remember lyrics, riffs, music and you can sing it at any time. And that's why I call Aerosmith and also all their songs epic and legendary. Also Aerosmith is one of these few band/artists whose songs, music lyrics are something more than two words or about the same theme as million of other songs, and that's just perfect, or maybe even more - that's divine!
Hope that I'm not the only one who thinks like that.

Hole In My Soul is a rock song from album Nine Lives [1997] and it was written by Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Desmond Child. This song is a mix of soft rock and pop rock, hard rock, but also it's an emotional ballad. Lyrics shows us a heartbroken man who feels very sad and emotionally damaged and who feels that there's nothing in his life, something like a a void which can't be filled.

I'm down a one way street
With a one night stand
With a one track mind
Out in no man's land
(The punishment sometimes don't seem to fit the crime)

Yeah there's a hole in my soul
But one thing I've learned
For every love letter written
There's another one burned
(So you tell me how it's gonna be this time)

Is it over
Is it over
'Cause I'm blowin' out the flame

Take a walk outside your mind
Tell me how it feels to be
The one who turns the knife inside of me
Take a look and you will find there's nothing there girl
Yeah I swear, I'm telling you girl yeah 'cause
There's a hole in my soul that's been killing me forever
It's a place where a garden never grows
There's a hole in my soul, yeah I should have known better
'Cause your love's like a thorn without a rose

I'm as dry as a seven year drought
I got dust for tears
And I'm all tapped out
(Sometimes I feel broke and can't get fixed)

I know there's been all kinds of shoes underneath your bed
Now I sleep with my boots on but you're still in my head
(And something tells me this time I'm down to my last licks)
'Cause if it's over
Then it's over
And it's driving me insane

Take a walk outside your mind
Tell me how it feels to be
The one who turns the knife inside of me
Take a look and you will find
There's nothing there girl yeah I swear
I'm telling you girl, yeah,
'Cause there's a hole in my soul
That's been killing me forever
It's a place where a garden never grows
There's a hole in my soul
Yeah, I should have known better
'Cause your love's like a thorn
Without a rose

Is it over
Yeah it's over
And I'm blowin' out the flame

Take a walk outside your mind
Tell me how it feels to be
The one who turns the knife inside of me
Take a look and you will find
There's nothing there girl yeah I swear
I'm telling you girl, yeah,
'Cause there's a hole in my soul
That's been killing me forever
It's a place where a garden never grows
There's a hole in my soul
Yeah, I should have known better
'Cause your love's like a thorn
Without a rose

Album of the Day : "Fall to Grace" by Paloma Faith

Today I would like to recommend you album "Fall to Grace" by Paloma Faith and I really hope you will love it as I.

"Fall to Grace"  is the second album by Paloma Faith, English singer-songwriter, released on May 2012. This album is a mix of pop, soul and soft rock, what gives everything what is the best in music and what we can find on one CD. Yes, this album gives just a pure joy.

As her previous album, "Do you want the truth or something beautiful ?" [2009], that this album is in my opinion, one of the best albums of 2012. Why? Maybe because of lyrics, music, Paloma's voice or maybe style [or as who likes - retro style]? Yes, but not only because of it. Every her song is a pure perfection and when you listen to this album (or previous),  you just want more and more, because this music is so amazing and unique.

I really like Paloma's voice and I love her style, because she isn't the same as other singers. Also I love her because she is breaking the stereotype of today's music and she is proving that it is possible to create Real and Interesting music.
Be honest, her music is like a colorful butterfly : remarkable, incredible, unrepeatable - just like Paloma, who is enrapturing with her talent. And that's just amazing.

I'm sure that when you will listen to the first song, you will just fall in love, not only in the album, but also in a wonderful Paloma Faith. And of course in her style.

You can find two versions of  album "Fall to Grace" - standard edition and deluxe edition. On standard edition we can find 12 great songs written by Paloma [except "Let Me Down Easy" - written by Wrecia Holloway]. Deluxe edition is the album with two discs, with 12 standard tracks and 5 songs in an amazing acoustic versions.

To this day we could hear 5 singles from the album: "Picking Up the Pieces" [May 2012],  "30 Minute Love Affair" [August 2012],  "Never Tear Us Apart" [September 2012], "Just Be" [December 2012] and "Black & Blue" [March 2013]. As for me all of them are very good.

And what do you think about this album, do you like it?

Rod Stewart in Poland

And the next Legend came to Poland...

September 14 - day when an amzaing Rod Stewart came again to Poland. And this time Rybnik, small city in the South of country, was that lucky place where he sang for his fans.

He went on stage a few second after 8PM and then a magic began. Why? Because of Rod. Because of his voice. Because of his band. Because of setlist.
Yes, everything was perfect but it was pity that the show ended so quickly because at 9:30PM. 21 songs in 1 hour and 30 minutes? Of course it possible when you love music and your fans, when you're professional, when you love what you're doing and when you have just a great time on the stage.

Songs were from his last album "Time" but also from his previous albums - old, good melodies. I think that everyone who was there, was happy because of setlist.

A nice surprise was Rod's daughter, Ruby, on the stage when she sang song "Just one more day". The next surprise was song "Soul Girl" (cover of "Soul Man" by Sam & Dave) sung by Rod's wonderful choir singers.
Song "Can't stop me now" is so good, but it's better, much better, when you listen to it and see pics of Rod and his father - amaizng moment. Pure magic.

In my opinion Rod is still so damn good, as a few years ago, and I think the same will be in the future in a few years. I was and still I'm impressed of everything - Rod, setlist, whole concert.
Yes, evening was epic. And I hope that soon he'll come back to Poland and I'll be able to be at his concert again - this is my wish.
