album of the day : Dirty Dancing OST

it's Friday so it's a time to present some good soundtrack. why? because soundtracks have good songs (usually  of course) and they're really good for party...and because we've almost a weekend, I think that this is a good idea.

so today I would like to recommend you Dirty Dancing OST, from movie Dirty Dancing (1987) with two big stars, amazing Patrick Swayze and pretty Jennifer Grey.
I think that my sister could say a lot about this film, maybe too much, because she just loves it, she watched it, probably, a million times and she knows everything about this movie. really! yes, you're right she knows knows every minute of this film... and here's the second: really!. scary, very scary haha ;)
to be honest, I'm not so huge fan of Dirty Dancing movie, like my sister, but I really like soundtrack. great rhythms, cool artists and songs which won't let you stand. and that's why I'm thinking that Dirty Dancing OST is a very good choice for party or...when you don't have any party, but you want to listen to other music than today's  ;) you'll find there almost everything what the best - slow sounds, and energetic rhythms too.

so let's the party start! ...and have a great time with music from Dirty Dancing soundtrack! cheers!

Our Mountain : artist of the day

do you know great band Our Mountain? I don't think so because they're not too famous, yet - of course. but I'm sure they'll be famous very very soon. so today I would like to present to you Our Mountain, great rock band as an artist of the day.. so Ladies and Gents, make some noise!

Our Mountain is psychedelic rock band from Australia, but now they're in New York.

members: Matthew Hutchinson, Michael Noonan, Abbey Lee.

what can I say about them? they're awesome on live, even better than on album, really. first time I saw them last year two times - first time on November 7 2011, and later next day, November 8 2011, in Łódź [Poland], when they were 30 Seconds To Mars support.  and I just fell in love with their music, to be honest :)
awesome music, cool lyrics, great vocal, guitars, drums... amazing!

medley of Our Mountain concert in Łódź [Poland] - November 8 2011, which I made especially for you :)

setlist : Drury Lane, Midnight black (with a white diamond on her forehead), 1981, Devils banquet, Wooden hearts.

let's talk about their album Myrtleford. I bought it when they were in Poland and happy because of it and proud that I've this album in my collection. Myrtleford is just woow!. for me this album has something great, surprising, amazing. we can find there 5 songs [Drury Lane, Midnight black (with a white diamond on her forehead), 1981, Devils banquet, Wooden hearts], but their're really super and I think when you once listen to it, you won't want to stop. or you will come back to this album very often. I'm sure of it. why? because I', an excellent example of it :)
favourite song from the album Myrtleford? damn, I don't know, because I like all of them and all songs from this album are the best as for me.
so I can say Our Mountain - artist of the day, but also, Myrtleford - album of the day, and everything will be great and true.
my own album Myrtleford by Our Mountain. number of the album: 231. [P.S. great cover of the album, isn't it?]
as I know, new album by Our Mountain will be soon and I can't wait because of it, I can't wait to listen to their new songs :)

Ania Rusowicz in Gdańsk

Ania Rusowicz

August 17 2012
Gdańsk, Poland

yes, that Friday was good, very good because of Ania Rusowicz concert, here in Gdańsk. her show was on small stage on targ Węglowy in Gdańsk, it's part in the Old Town of Gdańsk.

I think this is a great place to such a things but I don't know why stage was so small... anyway, maybe next time will be better ;)  so, her concert was because of St. Dominic's Fair, one of the biggest trade and cultural open-air events in Europe, organized in the Main City – the representative part of Gdańsk, Poland, but I will tell you more about it later.
so what can I say about Ania? she's very talented and her voice is..just amazing, hypnotizing. people 30+, can say that she has the same voice as her mum, who died in 1991, and that Ania is very similar to her mum. I heard a few songs by her mum, Ada Rusowicz, time ago, and now I'm glad that Ania is singing these songs, anew. why? because I think that World of Music needs return of good music, great lyrics, real sounds.
and the second reason, that I love her... music mix of 60's and 70's - my LOVE!

so, let's talk about the show...
at nine o'clock band went on stage and we could hear the first sounds. and after a few seconds Ania was on the stage and we were just in other world, retro world, I think so. not only because of songs, but because of  film set on stage too. concert ended after the encore, cover 'Somebody to love' by Jefferson Airplane. I think that everyone could find something for himself  :)

I must tell, that Ania is such an amazing person, so nice, so lovely, warm and beautiful. I met her after the show and I talked with her, and to be honest, talking to her, I didn't have a feeling that she's a star, famous or something like that, but that she's just a normal, nice, modest girl. and that's really amazing :)
so I took a photo with her and she signed her album (songbook) 'Mój Big-Bit' - isn't it amazing? :)

anyway, I think, I'll go to her another concert soon, very soon - it's worthwhile. really.

       setlist:

  1. Stróże Świateł
  2. Ja i Ty
  3. Duży błąd
  4. Hej, dziewczyno, hej!
  5. Ślepa miłość
  6. Przyjdź
  7. Musisz się zakochać
  8. Babskie gad-anie
  9. Chciałabym
  10. Nie pukaj do moich drzwi
  11. Nie bądź taki szybki Bill [Kasia Sobczyk cover]
  12. Za daleko mieszkasz miły
  13. Somebody to love [Jefferson Airplane cover]

so maybe now some pics and vids from that concert? ok, so all things (pics and vids) are mine. and I hope you'll like them, just like me :)
